Meet the Midwives

Jamie Oller and Whitney Wolfe met at Birthingway College of Midwifery in 2014. Through attending births together they realized they shared the same philosophy for empowerment through birth and a mutual commitment to creating a sacred space for family to welcome their new babies. This matched with their mutual love of the coast and its culture, through them together to create Harbor Midwifery.

She/Her

A native Oregonian, I knew from a young age that a home birth was for me, though I lacked the articulation for that choice. I spent many years working as a chef and a motorcycle instructor.  In 2013 I found my true calling to midwifery after my fortunate experience receiving whole body individualized care. At its roots, midwifery has a passion for bodily autonomy during a vulnerable, life-changing time. Through education, informed consent and relationship building, I focus on creating a space where you, the birthing parent, have the ultimate authority  over your body, to set the stage for a lifetime of empowered parenting and bonding. When I’m not catching babies I teach sex education, practice herbal medicine, and help families induce lactation. I love crafts, playing the guitar, creating stained glass pieces, and the Oregon rain.

She/Her

My love of the healing arts, family practice and holistic health care date back to before I could even articulate my desires. As I’ve developed as a person and provider, it’s become clear to me that my calling is to provide client-centered, compassionate health care. To me, this means providing space for those most affected by oppression in our society to find healing, empowerment and solace. This may look like helping parents and children connect through touch; providing care through the childbearing process; personalized fertility support; herbal recommendations’ or connecting clients with appropriate awareness. Because I believe that this is vital to helping each client inhabit their bodies in the healthiest and fullest way possible.
